How to teach the history of recent wars that is often considered not to be history yet, but is remembered in so many different ways, and has been investigated in great detail in the context of transitional justice? This is the main question the project seeks to answer by investing in a unique partnership among teachers and their associations from former Yugoslavia, in which transnational teams will collaboratively create a free ready-to-use learning resource about the 1990s Yugoslav wars. On 23 to 25 September, the new EUROCLIO project, ‘Learning History that is not yet History?, kicked off in Zagreb, Croatia. The meeting brought together a team of 6 educators from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Montenegro, to discuss, plan, and develop the contents of this exciting new project on teaching the 1990s wars in the former Yugoslavia. This is an official letter confirming that the Association for Education and Human Rights Promotion (AEHRP) has been elected as a Full Member of EUROCLIO, European Association of History Educators as the result of majority votes by the EUROCLIO Full Member Associations present at the EUROCLIO General Assembly that was held on 5 April 2014 in Ohrid, Republic of Macedonia.
Association for education and human rights promotion launched a new activity as a part of our project “Knowledge against hate“. Activity “Shadows of the past” is designed for elementary and high school students.
